JackpotStar is an online casino which only accepts British players. According to its Terms and Conditions, only they will be able to open an account with the house. Therefore, if you do not live there, we suggest checking out one the other houses we have covered.
And if you are living in Britain, you will surely know just how many online gambling houses accept players from there. So, how does this one stack up to the rest of the houses in the United Kingdom? Well, there are a couple of things this house does great, and a couple of areas in which we found it to be quite subpar.
For instance, JackpotStar is diligently licensed, and fully authorized to deal in the UK. However, we did find its deposits policy to be quite lackluster. Additionally, it is usually the case that casinos with the strict license that this one operates under are able to actually provide the player with a lot more trasnsparency about their deposit and withdrawal conditions. This is not the case here, and the house keeps the players in the dark when it comes to the means they have of cashing in and out of the casino.
One of the better things about JackpotStar is the sheer size of its games library. There are over 5000 different Slots, Table games, Game shows and even Crash games to play. On the other, the house has simply failed to provide its players with a comprehensive list of the Game Suppliers it has partnered with to procure such a wide games library.
Overall, it seems like we need to take a much more thorough look into what the house can offer, so that we can determine whether it is worth checking out or not. Join us as we examine all of the points we just mentioned in more detail in the full review of JackpotStar:
Bonuses
When it comes to promotions, players in the UK are usually a bit more restricted than their international counterparts. That is because of the high regulatory standards of the domestic regulatory body. Compared to other houses, JackpotStar does offer a bit more bonuses than average, but it is not fully transparent about their conditions. Here is what the promotions look like:
Bonus | Min deposit | Max bonus | Wagering requirements | Cash out limit |
JackpotStar welcome | £20 | 100 spins | 60x | None |
Daily Picks | £20 | Unspecified | 30x | - |
Discounter Free Spin Packs | £20 | Unspecified | 30x | - |
Free Spins for a Year | £50 | 520 spins | 60x | None |
Monthly Rewards | £20 | Unspecified | 30x | - |
VIP Bonuses | - | Unspecified | 30x | - |
There are two generous Welcome bonuses, as well as a couple of recurring promotions. Let's take a look at all of them, starting with the promotions applicable to your initial deposits:
- The JackpotStar Welcome is a fairly generic type of promotion. Cash in £20 or more during your first deposit, and you will be able to receive 100 Free Spins. The money won from these Spins will be bound with a pretty ridiculous wagering requirement, though. Said requirement is 60x, and represents how many times you need to play through the bonus in order to withdraw it. Usually, similar bonuses do have such requirements, but they are much lower, set to around 30x to 40x at most!
- Another, more interesting welcome offer is available as well. That is the Free Spins for a Year bonus, which can be claimed with an initial deposit of £50 or more. Now, that is a pretty high amount to require, and the previous promotion was much more in line with the rest of the online gambling industry when it comes to minimum deposits. On the other hand, though, the casino has a pretty massive amount of Free Spins for players who opt in to cover this higher entry cost. They will start receiving 10 Free Spins per week, which can be claimed on either a Saturday or a Sunday. As the name of the promotion implies, the bonus will last for a year, for a total of 520 Spins. There is also a spin for the Prize Twister game, which is a jackpot slot run by the casino. Within it, you can win cash prizes and free spins. The wagering requirement for this bonus is 60x, once again. Once again, that is pretty restrictive, though!
There is also a number of Recurring bonuses, which players will be able to claim an indefinite amount of times. These bonuses are pretty poorly explained, though, and the minimum deposit requirements and wagering requirements for them are not mentioned at all. According to the Terms and Conditions, the bonuses require you to cash in £20 in order to obtain, unless anything else is specified, which is fair enough. The default wagering requirement is said to be 30x, unless the Terms of the bonus set a higher or lower one. With how absurd the wagering requirements were for the initial deposit bonuses, though, we would not hold out our hopes for the promotions to be reasonable to cash out!
Given how little information there is about the conditions around the bonuses, we have no choice but to accept that they operate under the default values for minimum deposits and wagering requirements, but keep in mind that different conditions can actually be in place. With that said, here are the different recurring bonuses:
- The Daily Picks is some sort of deposit bonus, which allows you to get a special reward each day. If we go by its name, the promotion will allow you to pick between two or more different options when claiming it. We really would have liked to know more about this promotion, because it seems fairly interesting.
- Another bonus you can claim is called Discounted Free Spin Packs. Now, this promotion does not seem to be anything innovative, rather, it seems to be a pretty generic bonus. Still it's good that the casino has it available.
- Next, you will be able to benefit from a certain kind of Monthly Rewards if you decide to cash in with the casino. When it comes to what these rewards are, your guess is as good as ours, because the casino does not mention them!
- Finally, there is a set of VIP Bonuses, which are unlocked as your account progresses in level. The only thing we know about this levelling system is that there are 56 levels in total, but the rewards you unlock for reaching the new one, or what you actually need to do in order to level up, are not specified.
License
JackpotStar does not disappoint when it comes to regulation! Here is what the casino has to say on that important matter:
It claims to be licensed by the United Kigndom Gambling Commission (UKGC). This is the strict domestic regulator we mentioned before. We headed over to its register in order to verify whether JackpotStar has a license. Here is the entry for Skill on Net Ltd., the operator behind this casino:
According to the UKGC, this is a licensed operator. But how can we know whether it is actually connected to the casino we are currently covering? Well, here is a list of the domains that the company is known to operate under:
At the very top of them is its newest casino at the time of writing, none other than JackpotStar!
When it comes to regulation, we always find licensed houses to offer a much better service than their unregulated counterparts overall. In particular, the UKGC is one of the strictest bodies in the world. And while that does lead to certain restrictions when it comes to bonuses, there are also tons of benefits, in terms of the protections you can expect when playing with the casinos. Here is what some of those are:
- All UKGC licensed casinos need to regularly submit their games for audits. This is how it is proven that there is no undue bias in any of the games. The auditors which examine the said games go over the random number generators used to determine the outcome of every bet you place. These are complex mathematical algorithms, and checking them is no easy task, but the auditors are able to certify the legitimacy of each game. That is how you can be sure you are playing actual games of chance, whenever you are dealing with a UK-based casino.
- Houses nowadays have to comply with strict rules about how they should verify your identity, in order to help combat money laundering. JackpotStar is no different – whenever you sign up, you are required to verify your phone number, as well as provide a picture of your ID and proof of your address. How can you know that this incredibly sensitive information will be stored safely? Well, the UKGC has also taken care of that, and requires casino operators to encrypt all of the data they receive from the player. Some of the strictest data encryption protocols are used to make sure data leaks and hacker breaches are incredibly uncommon.
- Finally, all licensed houses are required to take problematic gambling tendencies seriously, and do their utmost to protect the player from developing them. From providing them with a wealth of information on what these tendencies look like, to offering them a reliable place to seek help, the UKGC seeks to ensure gambling stays fun and is conducted responsibly! That is not all, though, and houses also need to offer their players certain self-exclusion measures, which they can opt in to at any time. These are custom deposit limits, time out warnings and much more! You can even close down your account if you feel the need to.
We are very happy with the strict license JackpotStar operates under. Now, let's get back to our coverage of the casino itself. As we said, it only accepts players from the UK. Therefore, it will not surprise you to learn that it only supports one language version of its website:
Languages: English
And also, you will not be surprised to discover there is a long list of restricted countries, from where you will not be able to sign up:

Deposit and Withdrawal
Here is a list of the different deposit methods, their specifics and the currencies you can use to cash in with JackpotStar:
Deposit method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
PayPal | Unspecified | Unspecified | Instant | Free |
Credit/Debit Card | Unspecified | Unspecified | Instant | Free |
Bank | Unspecified | Unspecified | Instant | Free |
Apple Pay | Unspecified | Unspecified | Instant | Free |
Currencies: British Pound Sterling (GBP), Euro (EUR), US Dollar (USD), Australian Dollar (AUD), Canadian Dollar (CAD), Swedish Krona (SEK), Norwegian Krone (NOK), South African Rand (ZAR), Russian Ruble (RUB), Swiss Franc (CHF)
Do note that the default currency is the GBP, but you can make your initial deposit in one of the other ones, and that will change your account's base currency to whatever you cashed in with. That is a pretty unique and flexible policy which we really appreciate.
What we don't appreciate is how little information there is about the payment methods! We know that JackpotStar accepts debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and bank transfers. By itself that is a rather limited amount of payment methods. However, what irks us is that there is no information on what the minimum deposit requirement is, for any of those payment methods. We can say that it is not higher than £20, because that is how much certain bonuses require as a minimum deposit. Whether the house can accept deposits under £20 is a mystery, though!
There are no fees for depositing, at least none charged by the casino itself. If there are any third party charges, though, you would be expected to cover them. That is pretty much the case with any house nowadays.
Now, here is what the withdrawal policies of JackpotStar look like:
Withdrawal method | Minimum | Maximum | Processing time | Fee |
Bank | £50 | Unspecified | Unspecified | £10 Fee Possible |
Credit/Debit Card | Unspecified | Unspecified | Unspecified | Free |
PayPal | Unspecified | Unspecified | Unspecified | Free |
The list of the accepted payment methods is smaller, and Apple Pay is not available for cashing out. We only know the minimum withdrawal amount for bank transfers – £50, while the rest are a mystery. There does not seem to be a maximum withdrawal amount, but the casino says that “large wins”, meaning, withdrawals over £5000, will need to be processed slower. Of course, given the fact that the processing times for withdrawals are not mentioned at all, this does not mean anything at all!
Additionally, there is a fee which is applied to wire transfers under £500. Said fee is of £10, but we see no reason why houses need to charge withdrawal fees nowadays at all, especially since you will be required to cover third party charges too, which are the highest when withdrawing via a bank transfer. The rest of the payment methods do not have such fees.
There is also a certain wagering requirement players need to clear before withdrawing, lest they suffer a 15% penalty fee. This is a common AML policy with most casinos, but JackpotStar does not specify what that amount is. We expect it to be around 1x to 3x at most, because otherwise, the house would have set that amount excessively high.
Finally, there does not seem to be a fee for inactivity, or at least, one is not mentioned in the Terms and Conditions. While such fees are common with casinos nowadays, it is obviously more beneficial for the player for them to not be charged at all.
Games and Game Suppliers
There is no way to see how many Game Suppliers the casino has partnered with in total. All we have to go on is the following short list from its promotional material:
Game providers: Merkur, PragmaticPlay, Games Global, Blueprint, NetEnt, Evolution, Red Tiger Gaming, Real Time Gaming, Big Time Gaming, Thunderkick, Lightning Box, Yggdrasil, Play'n GO, ELK, IGTech, Other
With 5100+ games in its library, though, it is far more likely that JackpotStar features the titles of over 50 Suppliers. That is great, but some ability to filter the games by their supplier would be much appreciated. Overall, the library of this casino is pretty poorly designed, in our opinion. That is because it does feature certain sections where you can find Hot games, New games and so on, but we would have liked to see a more advanced way to filter the titles, by their theme, for example. Still, here is what you can play:
- Slots: JackpotStar has some of the most popular Slots available for its players. These include games like Bigger Bass Bonanza, Book of Dead, Wolf's Gold, Gates of Olympus and so on.
- Table Games: There are live dealer versions of casino classics like Baccarat, Poker, Blackjack and Roulettes. The latter are also available in a virtual dealer version, and we are quite pleased with the variety of these types of games with the house.
- Game Shows: There is a surprisingly large amount of Shows to tune in to. These include Crazy Time, Treasure Island, Mega Wheel, Crazy Coin Flip, Funky Time and many more!
- Crash games: JackpotStar is one of the few UK casinos which offer Crash games like Aviator nowadays. This fast-paced genre is well-worth checking out!
Conclusion
Overall, JackpotStar is a decent casino at best, and we cannot really recommend playing there. We are impressed with its license and its games library, but there are some downsides to the house which are too big to overlook, like its lack of transparency regarding the withdrawals policy. That is why we would stick to other UK casinos instead!
